Amnicon Falls State Park has a series of waterfalls and rapids along the Amnicon River that are sure to make for a memorable view! The new parking area is near the base of the falls, and a level boardwalk leads you to prime views of the falls. Despite the name, the Twelve Foot Falls is actually eighteen feet at its highest, which is still small compared to some of the waterfalls Northern Wisconsin has to offer. To reach the start of the trail, head to the Pattison State Park Entrance (6294 WI-35, Superior, WI 54880). This is just past the US 2/US 51 interchange. These are two of the most impressive falls on the Black River and are also the two easiest to access. There are 25 waterfalls ranging in distance from 35 miles to 85 miles from the center of Minocqua. Log buildings built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s add to the park's charm. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby, thus make sure to bring your vegan hiking boots too!
